Bailey: I would snub Man Utd

He had been a target for various other clubs across Europe, with Manchester United among those to have been heavily linked with the 19-year-old.

Bailey stated back in November, though, that he was reluctant to join the Red Devils as they would be unable to offer him regular playing time.

He told HLN: “If Manchester United want to sign me, but they cannot give me the guarantee that I will play regularly, I would reject them. It's as simple as that.”

Liverpool were also reported to be keen on taking the youngster to the Premier League, but they too have seen a hot prospect head elsewhere, while Ajax were heavily interested in him before the start of the season.

Leverkusen's 'Salt Bae' celebration

Leverkusen revealed last week that Bailey was due to undergo a medical, with the finishing touches being put to a deal.

That agreement has now gone through, with the German outfit having tied their new signing to a contract that will keep him on their books until the summer of 2022.
