KP Boateng bemoans Freiburg draw in Bundesliga

Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng says they have themselves to blame for not picking full points in Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Freiburg.

Robin Koch spoiled the party for the Eagles as his 51st minute equaliser ensured a 1-1 stalemate at Commerzbank-Arena.

Sebastien Haller gave the home side a 28th minute lead in their first league game of the New Year.

"We were asleep for 15 minutes after the restart and conceded the equaliser pretty much straight away," Boateng said, as reported by his club's official website.

"I think we deserved to win though.

"We showed for long periods exactly what we were working on in the winter training camp – trying to keep the ball and play good football.

"The only thing missing was the second goal.

"We now have to go away from home and pick up the points we dropped."

Frankfurt, who have set sights on playing in the Europa League next season, still linger around the qualification spot on the ninth position despite Saturday's missed points.

For their next match, The Eagles will travel away to fourteenth-placed Wolfsburg on Saturday.
