The Camels were denied victory by the Menorah at the Teddy Stadium and the 29-year-old is gutted they could not hang on

John Ogu is disappointed after Hapeol Beer Sheva were held to a 2-2 draw by 10-man Beitar Jerusalem in Monday’s Israeli Premier League encounter.

The Camels were on the verge of leaving the Teddy Stadium with maximum points before Erik Sabo popped up with an equaliser at the death.

Marcel Heister opened the scoring for the hosts in the 52nd minute and two minutes later, Nigeria striker Anthony Nwakaeme got the leveller for the visitors.

Ben Sahar gave Barak Bakhar’s side the lead in the 63rd minute after Michael Seroshtan had received his marching orders moments earlier. But Sabo's injury time goal denied the Turner Stadium outfit a chance swap places with Hapoel Haifa at the summit of the Isreali top-flight log.

And Ogu took to the social media to express his displeasure at his side’s inability to hold on for the maximum points.

“Sad we couldn’t get the 3 points last night but we are proud of the efforts and sacrifice,” Ogu wrote on Instagram.

“Focus on Thursday’s Toto cup semi-final.”

Ogu will be looking to help Hapoel Beer Sheva pick a positive result when they trade tackles with Maccabi Haifa in Thursday’s Toto Cup semi-final clash at the Sammy Ofer Stadium.
