FC Pune City are set to sign Ashutosh Mehta from ATK ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL), Goal can reveal.
The 27-year-old defender is expected to sign a two-year-deal with The Stallions. It will be his second stint with the Pune club following his loan spell in 2014 where he made a total of 10 appearances.
Having spent five seasons with the now-defunct Mumbai FC in the I-League, Ashutosh signed for Mumbai City FC in 2015. He returned to Mumbai FC on loan for the 2016 season of the I-League which saw the club relegated at the end of the campaign.
In 2016, the right-back joined Aizawl FC on loan and was a crucial member of the side which would go on to lift the I-League title against all odds.
After making only five appearances for Mumbai City in 2016, the versatile defender signed for Kolkata-based ATK for the 2017-18 season of the ISL and made a total of 12 appearances in a campaign to forget for the club.
A defender by trade primarily, Ashutosh can also double up a midfielder. The upcoming season will be his fourth in the ISL and his second with Pune.
