Injured Pogba forced off against Rostov

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has suffered an apparent hamstring injury in the Europa League clash against Rostov.

'Pogba being judged on his haircuts!'

The issue arose in the first couple of minutes of the second half, with Pogba quick to signal that he couldn't continue after receiving a short bout of treatment near the halfway line. He was then replaced in the midfield by Marouane Fellaini.

As he left the pitch, Pogba clutched his right hamstring. After receiving a hug from manager Jose Mourinho, the 24-year-old headed straight to the tunnel for further examination.

Pogba has started more games than any other player for United this season, but any impending lay-off could hardly have come at a worse time. Ander Herrera is suspended for Sunday's trip to Middlesbrough in the Premier League as well as the home clash with West Bromwich Albion on April 1 following his sending-off in Monday's 1-0 FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Chelsea.

And United also have a busy calendar still to complete thanks to their lengthy Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup runs this season, meaning any absence could be particularly damaging to their hopes of securing a Champions League place.

Pogba has come in for some criticism of late due to his unconvincing form following his £89.5 million transfer from Juventus last summer, and his withdrawal on an evening when he'd delivered a largely positive performance is another setback.
