Aizawl FC are to sign former Dempo SC striker Chidi Edeh after Kareem Nurain has been ruled out for the rest of the I-League campaign.
The Mizoram-based club are placed sixth on the table after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Indian Arrows in what was Santosh Kashyap’s first in-charge.
They last won a game on January 13th against Chennai City FC and since then have gone right matches without a win, including the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Iran’s Zob Ahan in the Asian Champions League play-off.
Edeh last plied his trade for East Bengal in the I-League back in the 2013-14 season. The former Kedah striker has scored over a 100 goals in the National Football League/I-League. He has won several trophies in India including the I-League, Federation Cup and Calcutta Premier League.
Aizawl have another four matches to go in the I-League and would also participate in the AFC Cup where they are grouped alongside Maldives’ New Radiant, Bangaldesh’s Abahani and possibly one of Maldives’ TC Sports or India’s Bengaluru FC.
