Guardiola blames Pulis & red wine for being late for press conference

The former Barcelona head coach found himself conveniently held up by a traditional beverage in the wake of his side's win over the Baggies

Pep Guardiola kept reporters waiting after Manchester City's Premier League win over West Brom on Tuesday, but the Catalan had his excuse prepared.

The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss pinned the blame squarely on Baggies manager Tony Pulis after the pair shared some customary red wine after the game.

James could be Man Utd's Hazard

Arriving roughly an hour after full time, Guardiola apologised to the assembled reporters before quipping: "Tony Pulis is Tony Pulis and red wine is red wine."

The duo would have had plenty to talk about with the game yielding four goals as City triumphed 3-1 at the Etihad.

Gabriel Jesus, Kevin de Bruyne and Yaya Toure blasted Guardiola's side into a formidable lead, while Hal Robson-Kanu scored a consolation goal for West Brom.

The win saw Man City reclaim third place and Pulis may have been looking for tips on how to halt his side's winless streak, which now stands at eight games.
