Melaka United have announced that their pre-season signing, Amri Yahyah is making a return to his former club Selangor in the mid-season transfer window.

The evergreen Malaysia international left the Red Giants in 2013 after 12 years with them, to join Johor Darul Ta'zim.

After the end of the 2016 season, the 36-year old forward left the Southern Tigers to join the Mousedeers. However he has been reported to be at loggerheads with the 2016 Premier League champions' star striker Ilija Spasojević.

This resulted in the rumour of his return to Selangor, with the Montenegrin then relinquishing his captaincy.

He has made 10 league appearances for Melaka, all from the starting line-up.

The move was then confirmed by the Red Giants, through its Twitter account. According to the announcement, Amri will also take to the pitch with them almost immediately, in a friendly match against Premier League side MISC-MIFA on early Wednesday afternoon.
