FIFA Rankings: India ends calendar year in 105th position

The Indian national football team have remained stationary at the 105th position in the latest FIFA rankings published on Thursday, December 21.

Since climbing two places to settle at the 105th position in October, the Men in Blue have played out a 2-2 draw with Myanmar in the AFC Asian Cup 2019 qualifiers having already confirmed their tickets to the main continental event to be held in the UAE.

Myanmar have made a jump of 10 positions to be be ranked 140 in the latest release. India have 320 rating points which has remain unchanged from their position in October.

Stephen Constantine’s men have dropped one position in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) where they are now ranked 15th behind Qatar and ahead of Jordan.

Vietnam showed the biggest improvement in the AFC with a ranking jump of 12 positions which has handed it the 112th rank in the world and 17th in Asia.

Globally, World Cup holders Germany were crowned as the Team of the Year after finishing the calendar year as the top ranked team.

Vanuatu made significant improvements climbing 28 positions in the latest ranking to occupy the 157th spot in the table while Nicaragua have been the biggest losers falling down 13 positions.
