Everything you need to know about the newest release in the popular EA Sports series, including how much it costs, how to get it and more

EA Sports' FIFA franchise is the best-selling sports video game series of all time and it is returning for another season with FIFA 19 set to hit the shelves.

Appetites were whetted during the summer with the special World Cup 2018 edition of the game and there are just a matter of weeks to go before the new version is available to play.

In the build-up to the release, the game's developers have been revealing a host of new features, including the not insignificant addition of Champions League.

But when can we get our hands on it and how much is it going to cost? Goal brings you everything you need to know.

When is FIFA 19 released?

FIFA 19 will be released worldwide on September 28 and it will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

However, if you simply can't wait that long, the game can be played three days earlier, on September 25, by pre-ordering one of the Champions or Ultimate editions.

PC users will be the first to get their hands on FIFA 19, however, with Origin Access Premier subscribers able to play the game as early as September 20 - eight days before the worldwide release.

A demo version of the game is also set to be launched in the build-up to the worldwide release as well and that is expected to be available on September 13.

The Standard Edition is the least expensive of the three options at £59.99 ($59.99), with the price increasing for the Champions Edition, which costs £79.99 ($79.99). The Ultimate Edition is the most expensive at £89.99 ($99.99).

In the United Kingdom, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are more expensive than their PC and Nintendo Switch variants, which is not surprising given the different console specifications. However, prices are uniform across all consoles in the United States

Only the Standard and Champions editions of the game are available to buy for the Nintendo Switch.

A 10 per cent loyalty discount is available for those who own FIFA 18 on either PS4 or Xbox One and pre-order the Ultimate Edition through their console.
