Egypt’s Ismaily complete signing of Okiki Afolabi from Jimma Aba Jifar

Egypt Premier League side Ismaily have completed the signing of Okiki Afolabi from Jimma Aba Jifar for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract.

Last season, the Nigerian attacker helped debutants Jimma to win the Ethiopian Premier League title for the first time in their history, scoring 23 goals to emerge as the top-scorer and best player in the division.

The Ismailia Stadium outfit finished as runner-up last term and have added the 23-year-old in their quest to clinch the league title and pose a good outing in their Caf Champions League campaign.

“The Ismaili club's board of directors, headed by Ibrahim Osman, has completed the four-season signing of Nigeria striker Okiki Afolabi,” read a statement from the club website.

“This is part of the club's efforts to strengthen the team's offensive line in preparation for next season's competition.”

Afolabi will become the fourth foreign player in the ranks of Ismaily after Ghana’s defender Richard Baffour, Tunisia’s midfielder Lassaad Jaziri and Cameroon’s Christopher Mendouga.

The forward could make his debut for his new club when they clash with Al Ahly in a league game at Al Salam Stadium on Thursday.
