Chelsea v Vidi Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Chelsea look to continue their unbeaten run under manager Maurizio Sarri on Thursday evening and they are big favourites to claim another Europa League win, this time against Hungarian side MOL Vidi.

The Blues won their opening game in the competition 1-0 away to PAOK Salonika and another three points should put them in a strong position to qualify from a group where they are the strongest side by some distance.

Vidi, for their part, are objectively the weakest team in the group and will surely be aiming to keep the score respectable when they visit Stamford Bridge.

Latest odds

Chelsea are one of the shortest priced sides in this round of Europa League fixtures offered at 1/9 (1.11) by bet365 for the win.

The visitors meanwhile can be backed at 25/1 (26.00) to pull off a major shock with the draw available at 10/1 (11.00).

Team news

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen could make their return from injury and illness respectively for the Blues. Sarri might not want to risk Pedro, who has had shoulder problems this season, and could give minutes to youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Preview

Vidi have not started the season well, sitting third in the Hungarian league table eight points behind the leaders, and lost their opening Europa League game 2-0 at home to BATE Borisov.

Meanwhile, only Spurs and Bournemouth have been able to win at Stamford Bridge in 2018 and Chelsea remain unbeaten under Sarri since the Community Shield at the start of August.

There is little to make us think that an in-form Blues side will slip-up at home to much lower quality opponents.

Tips and predictions

In a one sided market, one of the most appealing angles with which to back the hosts could be investing in them to win both halves at 8/11 (1.73). Chelsea are also offered at the same price to win with a -2 handicap.

However for our purposes, we will back the Blues to win and under 3.5 goals at 13/10 (2.30). Chelsea have won ten matches at home in all competitions this calendar year with seven of those games seeing under 3.5 goals.
