Brazil icon Ronaldo has offered an update on his personal wellbeing following reports he was hospitalised with flu on Friday.
The former Real Madrid and Barcelona forward was said to have been rushed to intensive care in Ibiza after being struck down with pneumonia, eventually being transferred to a private hospital, Clinica Nuestra Señora del Rosario.
News spread of the 41-year-old's condition, while fans and media figures took to social media to share their support for his recovery.
Ronaldo then took to his own official account on Sunday to reassure supporters and those who had sent him well-wishes, however, while confirming the trip to hospital was true.
"Friends, I had a very strong flu in Ibiza and I had to be hospitalised on Friday but everything is in order," the legendary Brazil forward said on Twitter.
"Tomorrow I will be discharged and I will return home.
"Thank you all for your love and your messages!"
Ronaldo is said to own property on the Spanish Island and is believed to be visiting on holiday.
It comes just weeks after the two-time World Cup winner was in Russia to open the 2018 tournament, appearing on screen with the official ball and taking part in a passing routine with a local child.
