Betting Tips for Today: Fulham are good value to kick-start their season against Burnley

Fulham will be looking to claim their first Premier League victory since returning to the top flight when they face Burnley at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The home side are made Even money (2.0) favourites with bet365 to come out on top in their third match since sealing promotion, whilst the visitors are available at 100/30 (4.30) and the draw is a 12/5 (3.40) chance at the time of writing.

Burnley's impressive performances in the Premier League last season saw Sean Dyche's men qualify for the Europa League - a fantastic achievement for the Lancashire club.

The Clarets' journey to the group stage isn't complete yet though. They lost 3-1 against Olympiakos in Greece on Thursday night, finishing the game with 10 men and they could be forgiven for having one eye on the second leg at Turf Moor next week.

This busy schedule should mean punters are keen to oppose the visitors more often than usual, if the price is right of course.

Fulham may not have picked up any points in the campaign thus far but their performances against Crystal Palace and Tottenham showed plenty of encouraging signs.

Slavisa Jokanovic's side play a dynamic style that's pleasing on the eye but have just lacked a killer touch at vital moments. The Cottagers have taken 25 shots in their two matches so far but netted just once but that run could be about to change.

Burnley usually focus on a solid defence which allows them to soak up pressure and remain tough to break down, even if they don't offer a huge amount in the final third.

However, their display at Watford - particularly in the second half where they were nowhere near as effective - should give plenty of encouragement to sides facing the Clarets off the back of a midweek European tie.

The underdog's squad still looks a little thin to consistently produce the kind of performances that punters have become accustomed to when regular midweek matches are added into the equation.

While it's still early in the season to be thinking too much about fatigue, with European travel and a three day gap between games this has to be a factor in weighing up the prices available, especially in Burnley's case.

The extra rest as well as home advantage afforded to Fulham makes them a worthy selection to win the game at Evens (2.0) while the 5/4 (2.25) about the hosts winning the second half could be an interesting angle if Burnley's intensity drops after the break.
