Betting tips for Saturday: 13/2 treble featuring late goals involving Leeds United and Derby County

The English football season is now firmly underway and after four games in the Championship, trends have started to emerge.

For instance, surprise package Bolton currently sit third and their games have seen just two first half goals, but three goals have been scored in just the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Backing the second half of their matches to feature the most goals would have paid out three times already, although Wanderers do not feature in this 13/2 (7.50) treble since their opponents Sheffield United have conceded four times in the first 30 minutes of away games this season.

Nottingham Forest v Birmingham City – Second half to have the most goals at 21/20 (2.05)

Like Bolton, Birmingham’s matches have also seen far more goals in the second period than the first, with City’s matches combining for just one goal in the opening 45 minutes.

Couple that with the fact that both of Nottingham Forest’s home league games this term have been 0-0 at half-time, and it looks like fans will have to wait to see goals in this one.

Norwich City v Leeds United - Second half to have the most goals at Evens (2.0)

Norwich have hardly set the world alight this season with just four points from four games but it is their second half form that really stands out.

The Canaries’ four games have seen four goals in the first half between them this season, but the last 15 minutes alone of matches have featured a stunning eight goals.

Their overall second half total is 12 goals, which, combined with the eight in Leeds’ games, should see this leg landing on Saturday afternoon.

Derby County v Preston North End – No goal before 31:00 at 5/6 (1.83)

Preston’s away form last season was the third best in the league and just five of the goals they their matches saw on the road came in the first 30 minutes.

It is little surprise, then, that they are repeating the trick this time around and not one of their matches, either home or away, has seen a strike in that time.

This 13/2 (7.50) treble with bet365 looks good value ahead of Saturday’s Championship action, then, and could well pay dividends for those who like accumulators rather than single bets.
