Reports in the Portuguese press claim that Lopes has deals in place with both the players and should he win the presidential elections, then he will bring the two players to the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Garay, 24, was signed by Real Madrid from Racing Santander and after an initial loan stint with his former club in 2008-09 has been with the Blancos unit, though without much first-team action. 26-year-old Almeida joined Besiktas in the middle of this season.
It's been also reported in the Portuguese media that Lopes wants to appoint Sporting Braga's Domingos Paciencia as his coach once he becomes the president of the Lisbon giants, although A Bola reports that he wants to sign Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.
