Vitor Baia
Former Porto goalkeeper Vitor Baia has confessed that his transfer from Porto to Barcelona is under investigation.

Now 40 years old, the goalkeeper retired from professional football after a second stint with the Portuguese giants ended in 2007. However, his move from the Dragoes to Barca in 1998 has come under scrutiny.

“There is an ongoing investigation, including my transfer to Barcelona,” the former player, who isn’t implicated in any wrong-doing, admitted on Friday, according to the AFP news agency.

Frederic Demonceau, the deputy prosecutor with regards to the case, has indicated that the investigation surrounds those players previously involved with agent Luciano d'Onofrio. “The investigation is progressing slowly due to the complex links between Luciano d'Onofrio and several businesses, companies and football clubs,” he said.

Sergio Conceicao’s move to Lazio in 1998 and Antonio Folha’s switch to Standard Liege three years later are also reputed to be under scrutiny. All three players turned out for Porto at the time of their switch.
