Portuguese giants Benfica have completed the transfer of highly rated attacker Eder Luis from Atletico Mineiro for a reported fee of €2 million. The Brazilian side have confirmed the move on its official website.

The 24-year-old was one of the star players at Mineiro last season and scored 12 league goals. The attacker formally played for Sao Paulo in the Brazilian top flight.

Benfica have secured only 50% of the player's rights. The remaining 50% remains in the hands of Atletico Mineiro.

Jorge Jesus was eager to add some more depth to his squad up front and the Benfica coach has now gotten his desired reinforcements.

The Europa League hopefuls previously secured the services of young striker Alan Kardec, while young midfielder Airton also left Brazil to sign for Benfica.
