OFFICIAL: Porto Sign River Plate Striker Radamel Falcao
The Dragons have finally found the successor to Lisandro Lopez...
There had been fears that the Colombian ace's move to the Estadio do Dragao would be further delayed as River Plate had yet to pay their debt to the player, believed to be in the region of €400,000.
However, Porto issued a statement to the Portuguese stock market this morning explaining they had reached agreement with River Plate to buy 60 per cent of Falcao's playing rights for €3,9 million.
The 23-year-old will pen a four-year contract with Porto upon passing a medical with the Portuguese champions.
Falcao, a product of River Plate's youth academy, made 22 appearances for the club last season, scoring 10 goals.
He had offers from both Porto and Benfica, but in the end decided to join the Dragons because of the possibility to play the Champions League.
