Quique Flores To Stay On At Benfica
The Portuguese giants have declared they will not give their head coach Flores his marching orders at the end of the season.
Benfica, who crashed out of the UEFA Cup at the group stage, managed just a third-place finish in the league and the Carlsberg Cup was their only trophy this season.
News reports in Portugal have suggested that Benfica are interested in parting company with Flores to install Sporting de Braga boss Jorge Jesus as their new coach.
However, the Lisbon club confirmed on Monday evening that Flores, who is entitled to €3.5 million in compensation in case of being sacked, will remain at the helm.
According to a club statement, Benfica and the former Valencia boss are already preparing for next season.
