PSG will continue to make history, says Ibrahimovic

The striker scored twice to see his side lift the Trophee de Champions on Saturday but has called on his team-mates to show just how strong the team can be
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is confident Paris Saint-Germain will continue to make history following their Trophee de Champions victory.

The Sweden star scored both goals in the comfortable 2-0 win over Coupe de France winners Guingamp in Beijing on Saturday as the Ligue 1 champions lifted the first piece of silverware of the new season.

It is the second time Ibrahimovic has won the trophy since his move from AC Milan in 2012 and his fifth title overall with the capital club, and he has called on his team-mates to prove just how strong the team can be as they head into the 2014-15 campaign.

"We are strong. But it's not enough to say it, we must prove it," he is quoted as saying by RMC.

"We have to play and train every day to improve and then show it on the pitch.

"I think the Parisian fans are very proud of their team. I'm starting my third season here and I've won five trophies. When I arrived, I said we would make history. We've already made history, and we will carry on."

PSG begin their Ligue 1 title defence against Reims on August 8.
