The president of the Ligue 1 club has admitted the former Athletic Bilbao coach is yet to respond to their offer to take charge
Marcelo Bielsa is still in pole position to become coach of Marseille despite failing to meet Tuesday’s deadline to accept the role.
The former Athletic Bilbao coach has been offered the job on a two-year contract, however club president Vincent Labrune has admitted the Ligue 1 outfit are yet to hear from the coach.
"[Bielsa is] very precise, very picky,” Labrune told Le Parisien. “I won't speak of his demands, but there are a multitude of issues beyond those of ordinary mortals.
"The deadline of April 15, which I mentioned more than a month ago, came at a time when I had not yet heard from Marcelo Bielsa. We must adapt to this change."
Former coach Elie Baup left his post with Marseille in December and since then Jose Anigo has taken over as caretaker boss.
