Blanc to sign new Paris Saint-Germain deal, says Al-Khelaifi

The Qatari billionaire is to hand the former France boss a new contract to keep him at the Parc des Princes after the club reached the Champions League quarter-finals
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has revealed that coach Laurent Blanc will be offered a new contract.

The former France boss took charge at the Parc des Princes after a lengthy search for a replacement for Carlo Anceotti, who went to Real Madrid last summer.

Initial speculation had claimed that PSG wanted Arsene Wenger to take the 48-year-old at the end of the current campaign.

However, the Qatari billionaire is eager to see him remain in charge of his team, telling Canal + "He's going to stay. He will extend his contract."

When quizzed about his president's statements, Blanc merely responded: "I hope that his words will come true."

PSG are hot favourites to retain their Ligue 1 title this season, while they also sealed their place in the Champions League quarter-finals by beating Bayer Leverkusen 6-1 on aggregate.
