The 32-year-old says that the PSG striker irritates him and thinks he ought to be more modest in front of players who don’t share his talent
Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has hit out at Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the lack of respect he shows fellow professionals.
Ibrahimovic scored against Cisse’s club Bastia on Saturday when the two sides met in a Ligue 1 clash and, although the 32-year-old thinks the Sweden international is a talented player, he believes he needs to stop underestimating opposition players.
"I'm not a fan of Ibra," Cisse told Le Parisien. "He goes over the top. He lacks humility.
"Just because he's a player who's extraordinary, it doesn't mean he has to look down on people and show a lack of respect for players who perhaps don't have his talent.
"He said two or three things on the pitch that irritated me. That's what I reproach him for. He undoubtedly doesn't care because I'm a nobody for him and he won't read my opinion, but it's not cool."
Cisse has represented Bastia on eight occasions and scored one goal since joining the club in January.
Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic is Ligue 1’s top scorer having found the net 26 times for PSG in their defence of the title this season.
