The Italy midfielder has welcomed the competition for places at Parc des Princes, insisting the Frenchman's arrival has made him more motivated to perform wellParis Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has insisted that Yohan Cabaye's arrival at the Parc des Princes will help his own progress at the club.
The Frenchman moved to the Ligue 1 champions in January as Laurent Blanc moved to increase competition for places in the middle of the park.
However, the young Italian says he does not fear losing his place in the team and is adamant the former Newcastle man will help him develop as a player.
"For me, it just gives extra motivation," he is quoted as saying by RMC.
"It gives me more desire to give everything for this club. I want to succeed for the whole team. When you have ambition, you have to be at 100 per cent.
"But to do well in all competitions. You have to be a team. Cabaye is good for me, he helps me grow, he helps the team to progress.
"We can only be happy with his arrival. He's a great player who immediately blended into the team."
Cabaye could make his first Champions League appearance for les Parisiens on Tuesday when they take on Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16 first-leg encounter, having last featured in the tournament with Lille.
