The 22-year-old Ghana international will be hoping to rediscover his goalscoring touch at the Stade Auguste Bonal after managing just one goal in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this term
The 22-year-old came through the youth team ranks at the Stade Velodrome but while he has made 16 Ligue 1 appearances for Jose Anigo's side, he has managed just one goal.
Consequently, Marseille have now decided to allow Ayew to spend the remainder of the 2013-14 campaign with Sochaux, who currently sit 19th in the table.
"An agreement in principle was reached between Marseille and Sochaux for the loan until the end of the season of Jordan Ayew," read a statement on the struggling side's official website.
"The arrival of the Ghana international striker at FC Sochaux is now conditional on the medical examination."
