PSG-Monaco Betting Preview: Expect goals at both ends in the battle of the billionaires

Both sides have used their considerable wealth to put together teams rich in attacking talent and our tipster expects plenty of goalmouth action
Nouveaux riches take on even more nouveaux riches in Ligue 1 on Sunday, as Paris Saint-Germain welcome Monaco to the Parc des Princes for a top of the table clash.

The champions have started this campaign as they finished the last to stretch their unbeaten run to 16 league games and are 4/5 (1.80) favourites with Betway to leapfrog their visitors with all three points.

However, Claudio Ranieri’s men are the only other undefeated side in the league and are available at 7/2 (4.50) to stretch their lead at the top of the table with victory in the capital.

There has been nothing to separate the sides in any of their last three meetings after 90 minutes and there are odds of 12/5 (3.40) on offer on them sharing the spoils on their first encounter in over two years.

After significant investment from their Qatari owners Les Parisiens finally claimed their first league title in almost 20 years last season, and Sunday’s opponents are attempting to take a leaf out of their book as they seek to end their own title drought which stretches back to the year 2000.

The newly-promoted club’s Russian oligarch has wasted little time in opening his chequebook to bring in star names such as Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez, lending the team a formidable attacking line-up.

This strength up front has already helped les Rouge et Blanc to collect impressive away wins against traditional heavyweights Bordeaux and Olympique de Marseille on their return to the top flight, so a trip to Paris will hold little fear.

However, Laurent Blanc was also busy in the transfer window, adding Edinson Cavani to play alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic in an already impressive frontline, and with so much firepower on display odds of 17/20 (1.85) are too good to miss on both sides finding the net.

That bet looks all the more compelling when you consider the sides have only been denied three times in front of goal in their last 48 competitive matches combined.

Both teams to score for a 2pt stake at 17/20 (1.85) with Betway
