Pires: Big egos in PSG dressing room could trouble Blanc

The former Arsenal star is not fully convinced the former France boss is the right man for the job due to his previous problems with high-profile names
Former France international Robert Pires believes the presence of several superstars at Paris Saint-Germain could cause Laurent Blanc problems if he were to take over as the Ligue 1 champions' new head coach.

A number of recent reports suggest that Blanc is on the verge of signing a two-year deal with PSG as the French giants are preparing for life after Carlo Ancelotti, who is widely expected to join Real Madrid this summer, but Pires is not fully convinced that the 47-year-old is the right man for the job.

"I like his philosophy, but he will also encounter some obstacles. I am curious to see how he will react to all the big egos and stars in the dressing room," he told Le Parisien.

"He has never experienced anything like it before in his coaching career. And we all remember that he had some problems with the players with egos during his time in charge of France.

"It will be crucial to see how he deals with this. I expect him to use his experience from les Bleus, though."

Blanc started his coaching career at Girondins de Bordeaux before taking charge of France in 2010. He has been out of work ever since leaving les Bleus after Euro 2012.
