'I prefer Falcao to Ibrahimovic'

Monaco attacker Valere Germain cannot wait to train and play alongside the Colombian next season and expects the principality club to compete with PSG
Monaco striker Valere Germain has revealed he prefers new signing Radamel Falcao to Ligue 1's current goalscoring king Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swede's 30 goals in the top French tier helped Paris Saint-Germain claim their first league title in 19 years, though Monaco have emerged this year as major contenders in the transfer market - signing Falcao from Atletico Madrid, and Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez from the Colombian's former club Porto.

"I prefer Falcao," Germain, 23, told Le Parisien. "Even if the two strikers are very different.

"Radamel is a scorer and - especially - a real fighter. He is one of the best strikers in the world. We are very pleased to welcome him.

"I often watched him on television and now I will be able to train and play with him. This is fabulous!

"Besides, with Moutinho, Falcao and Rodriguez, we will be able to challenge all the teams in Ligue 1, even those of Europe. We will try to compete with PSG next season [for the title]."

Monaco were bought by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev in late 2011 while languishing in Ligue 2 but Claudio Ranieri has helped guide the club back to Ligue 1 as champions of the second tier this campaign.
