'No champagne yet, I'm still able to speak!' - Ancelotti

The Italian admitted that no alcohol has yet entered his system despite his side's title victory, as he preferred to use the opportunity to commend his players on their success

Carlo Ancelotti says he has not drunk any champagne yet following Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 title triumph by the virtue of their 1-0 win against Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday.

A second-half goal from Jeremy Menez at Stade Gerland sealed the capital club's title and their coach was delighted with the attitude his side showed to seal the championship.

"It's a title that occupies the same place in my heart as the others which I've won. These are great memories. I'm very happy, but I haven't drunk champagne yet. It's because of that I'm still speaking [to the media]," he told reporters.

"I'm very happy. It was not easy to win here. We had a good game, we were always dangerous despite a difficult start with Lyon's pressing. We have not always been efficient in difficult circumstances."

Ancelotti then posed the notion that a change in formation may have swung the title in PSG's favour, before congratulating his players for a job well done despite the occasional hiccup.

"It's been difficult as there is a a lot intensity and pace in this league. But the team have been solid and compact since December. Maybe the tactical change to 4-4-2 has helped regain the players confidence," he continued.

"We have reached our objectives of winning Ligue 1 and going far in the Champions League. The team did a good job. They're very professional.

"Everyone is happy. We deserve this title. We showed a lot of individual quality. The work was done well since we were very much in the lead [of the chasing pack], even if it took a long time to finish the job.

"My future? I haven't yet spoken with the players. We still have matches to play and we will respect what remains of the league. We will respect the other teams."
