The Lyon coach has expressed to media that he is delighted with the current renaissance the midfielder is experiencing following troubles with injury
The midfielder has been ravaged by injury problems in recent seasons but the €22 million signing from Bordeaux has marked his last two games with two goals and an assist.
Garde has helped lead Lyon to third place in Ligue 1 this season and, ahead of Sunday's clash with Paris Saint-Germain, he shared his delight at Gourcuff being back at full throttle in a free-roaming position.
"He is remarkably accomplished in this role, in which I ask him not to be too confined," the 47-year-old-coach told RMC Sport.
"He has a good relationship with his team-mates. He works hard. He is serving the team. His last performance was very impressive."
The French coach began his playing career with Lyon in 1987 before moving to Strasbourg and retiring at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger.
