The Olympique de Marseille star was in imperious form, notching two assists for Olivier Giroud and Franck Ribery, either side of a fabulous dipping strike just after the second half to hand Didier Deschamps' side the victory.
The 28-year-old, who picked up his 20th cap on Friday, hailed his side's performance against "a tough opponent".
"[I am] happy and satisfied. We really wanted to win against a tough opponent. Therefore, I consider it very good for me." Valbuena told TF1.
The winger also commented on next week's opponents Spain, who were surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw against Finland, allowing Deschamps' men to head into Tuesday's much-anticipated clash in pole position.
He continued: "This is an outcome that is good for us, but we must continue. Hopefully, they [Spain] will show up to the match, and all of the fans will be behind us."
Tuesday's fixture at the Stade de France between France and Spain kicks off at 21:00 CET.
