And, while he is loving life in Ligue 1, Barton - who still has two years to run on his QPR deal - does miss England's top flight.
"I cannot see me playing again at QPR," the midfielder told reporters.
"Marseille had faith in me when no-one had faith any more, so I want to pay them back for that. At the right moment we will talk. But I miss the Premier League."
Marseille travel to Parc des Princes to face rivals Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, with the top-of-the-table clash likely to feature David Beckham’s debut for Les Parisiens.
