Nantes & Bangoura fined €4.5m for breach of Al Nasr contract
Fifa's Dispute Resolution Chamber has also imposed a four-month ban on the player and prevented the club from making new signings in the next two transfer windows
Ismael Bangoura and Nantes have been forced by Fifa's Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) to pay €4.5 million to Al Nasr as compensation for breach of contract. The Guinean made the move to France in 2012, but it has now emerged that the switch was against terms agreed with the Dubai side.
As well as paying a hefty fine, Nantes will be unable to bring in any new faces for the next two transfer windows for the breach of contract, which came during the protected period.
Furthermore, Bangoura has been banned from playing in an official match for a period of four months, of which three months have already been served.
Club and player will have to pay the fine together, having been found to be jointly liable.
The 28-year-old has represented the likes of Le Mans, Dynamo Kiev and Stade Rennais since leaving Africa.
