The one-timed capped England international received a booking in the 56th minute for a challenge on Vincent Muratori before being given his marching orders by the referee six minutes later after tangling with Djamel Bakar.
Speaking on his personal Twitter in the aftermath, Barton voiced his displeasure at what he perceived to be over-reaction from the players challenged.
"Two very harsh yellows. First one wasn't even a foul. We will bounce back from this"
"Players who roll around when nobody touches them should be subsequently banned," the 30-year-old, who has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, continued.
"I hate cheats. Authorities should address it."
Despite a relatively good disciplinary record in France since departing from QPR in the summer, Barton has continued to court controversy, with the midfielder publicly apologising to former Germany international Dietmar Hamann recently following a highly public row between the pair on Twitter.
