Ibrahimovic to face disciplinary action for Lovren stamp
The PSG forward will be summoned to appear at a hearing set up by the authorities for the incident involving him and the Croatian during the game against Lyon last week
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been summoned before a disciplinary committee for appearing to stamp on Dejan Lovren during Paris Saint-Germain's 1-0 win over Olympique Lyonnais last week. The Sweden international had caught the Croatian centre-back on the forehead with his boot on the stroke of half-time during the 1-0 victory at the Parc des Princes, causing a head injury.
A video of the incident was examined by the French Professional Football League (LFP), and the 31-year-old was now invited to present his version of events in front of the commission.
"The commission, prompted by the Viewing Commission, calls up Ibrahimovic following his actions in the 40th minute against Lovren for a hearing on January 10 2013," an official communication read.
The former Barcelona striker has scored 18 goals in just 15 Ligue 1 games this season, but has already received one red card, against Saint-Etienne in November.
