The Italian coach was disappointed with his side's loss, but says the manner of the display should give the squad confidence in the coming weeks
Les Parisiens created a number of chances to break the deadlock, but failed to beat goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier in both normal and extra-time, before being beaten 5-3 on penalties.
"It's a performance that gives us confidence for what’s to come. We just needed that goal. It's no cause for concern, "Ancelotti was quoted as saying on the Ligue 1 website.
"We just couldn't score when we had the opportunities. My team was good, and so was the football we produced.
"I have no complaints with the players. We're disappointed with the result but the lads carried themselves very well. We played 120 minutes of consistent and dominant football."
PSG will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday when they take on Nice.
