The 51-year old coach has praised his young midfielder for the way he returned from suspension to help the team progress in the Coupe de la Ligue
The 22-year old France international was banned by his club for breaking a curfew on international duty, but returned in a defensive role on Tuesday night, as Rennes saw off AC Arles-Avignon 2-1 in the Coupe de la Ligue.
"It is not easy for him," he told RMC Sport.
"He brought us a lot of simplicity and efficiency in a position unusual for him, and although he made a mistake, I thought Yann played excellently.
"I hope he understands that Stade Rennais was proud of him, he must find that pride through his performance, he must become the great Yann M'Vila."
