Marseille - Lyon clash postponed due to bad weather

The highly anticipated top-of-the-table contest has been cancelled by a committee because of the adverse conditions in the region
Olympique de Marseille were expected to host Olympique Lyonnais at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday evening, but the match has been rescheduled by officials because of strong winds sweeping the area.

A statement issued on L'OM's official website read: "The Departmental Security Committee met at 14:00 at the Stade Velodrome, and issued an unfavourable opinion because of the climatic conditions in the Marseille region."

Remi Garde's side had been hoping to move ahead of L'OM in Ligue 1, after les Phoceen's impressive start to the season came to an abrupt end, having failed to win in their last three matches.

It is not known when the match will be played, but both sides will now be focused on their midweek French League Cup ties.
