Nene injury blow for Paris Saint-Germain

The experienced attacker faces a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a fractured cheekbone, and will miss a number of important games as a result

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has received some disturbing news on the injury front in the aftermath of his side's 1-0 Ligue 1 win over Stade Reims as winger Nene has picked up a facial injury that will keep him out of action for several weeks.

The 31-year-old featured from the start in Saturday evening's encounter, but was forced to stay behind in the dressing room at half-time after an unfortunate collision in the first half.

Nene visited the hospital after the match, and PSG have now announced that the Brazilian attacker will be sidelined for between three and six weeks due to a fractured cheekbone.

The injury means that Nene will miss the upcoming Champions League matches against Dinamo Zagreb, while he's also likely to miss the away game against Dinamo Kiev.

Nene has made seven Ligue 1 appearances this term, providing three assists in the process.
