| Lille's woeful Ligue 1 form continued, as they suffered a demoralising 2-0 defeat away to Stade Rennes, who capped off a superb week with victory. Having reignited their season in the Coupe de la Ligue in midweek, Frederic Antoinetti's side were much improved against Rudi Garcia's faltering outfit, even having the luxury of naming Yann M'Vila on the bench. After a quiet start, it took until midway through the second-half for les Rouge et Noir to take the lead, with Julian Feret pouncing on a poor clearance to divert the ball past Mickael Landreau. Just over 10 minutes later it got better for the hosts, as Romain Alessandrini scored a sumptous 25- yard swerving strike to leave Landreau with no chance and seal the victory. Lille face Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday. |

| AC Ajaccio secured a close-fought 1-0 victory over an unfortunate Stade Brest, who will feel that they deserved at least a point. Adrian Mutu created the best of the first-half chances for the Corsican side at Stade Francois Coty, but would be matched early on by Alexis Thebaux. Nevertheless, Bruno Grougi spurned the best opportunity for the visitors, with his effort slamming against the bar. The deadlock was finally broken at the start of the second period when Mehdi Mostefa's strike was deflected in by Paul Baysse and that was enough to seal the win and move Ajaccio into ninth place. |

| Champions Montpellier notched their first clean sheet of the season with a 2-0 victory away to Nancy, who have now gone more than eight hours without scoring. Djamel Bakar and Yohan Mollo were particularly active for the hosts from the off, but neither could combine to seriously test Geoffrey Jourdren. Karim Ait-Fana set-up Younes Belhanda who nudged MHSC ahead in the second-half, taking aim to shoot past Guy N'Dy Assembe. Andre Luiz's header was cleared off the line by Marco Estrada, but Souleymane Camara settled nerves and the game, with a wonderful long-range effort into the top corner. Rene Girard's men travel to Gelsinkirchen to face Schalke 04 in the Champions League on Wednesday . |

| ESTAC TROYES |
0 | 2 | TOULOUSE |
| Toulouse secured their first win in four games by beating a spirited Troyes side 2-0 on Saturday evening. Ali Ahamada was forced into action early on, with Mounir Obbadi and Brazilian striker Marcos seeing early chances saved by the goalkeeper. Alain Casanova's men turned on the style in the second-half, and it showed as Wissam Ben Yedder maintained his goalscoring streak by evading his marker and diverting past Yohan Thuram-Ulien. Lady luck then smiled on the visitors as Emmanuel Riviere struck a fortunate, deflected second as the Pink City club returned home with three points. |

| FC Lorient maintained their unbeaten run as they held Evian to a 1-1 draw at Parc des Sports in Annecy. The opening goal came with eight minutes on the clock as Kevin Berigaud's flick-on into the path of Yannick Sagbo saw the latter cross for Saber Khlifa who broke the deadlock. Kevin Monnet-Paquet spurned a chance to equalise soon after, with Jeremie Aliadiere smashing an effort against the post early into the second-half. For all of their enterprising moves, a goal did finally come for Lorient, as Ludovic Giuly's fine pass to Gilles Sunu saw the former Arsenal youngster bag an equaliser in the dying minutes. |

| OGC NICE |

| Bastia came from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw against a frustrated Nice outfit at Stade du Ray on Saturday evening. Dario Cvitanich struck just after the half hour mark, with Jerome Rothen equalising 12 minutes later and bagging his first Ligue 1 goal in three years. Both sides were creative up front, in what was a particularly attacking encounter, as Renato Civelli put the hosts back in front before the hour. The Nice defence failed to maintain concentration towards the end, as Anthony Modeste found the net late on to secure a draw for Frederic Hantz's side. |

| SAINT-ETIENNE |
0 | 0 | STADE DE REIMS |
| Saint-Etienne were frustrated by a resolute Stade de Reims side at Stade Geoffrey-Guichard on Sunday afternoon. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, the expected main threat for the former European Cup finalists, found goalkeeper Kossi Agassa particularly alert in the opening exchanges. Joshua Guilavogui provided the attacking guile for les Verts in the second-half, but neither he or his team-mates could break the deadlock for all their domination. Floyd Ayite kept Stephane Ruffier on his toes with a decent effort up the other end, but the game would eventually peter out to a 0-0 draw. |

| Marseille's hopes of breaking a 76-year-old Ligue 1 record ended abruptly as they were soundly beaten 4-1 by a fantastic Valenciennes outfit at Stade du Hainaut on Sunday. Elie Baup's side had previously won six out of six games, conceding just one, but in the end would suffer their heaviest away defeat since 2004. It took 16 minutes for the hosts to take the lead as Gael Danic curled a delightful free-kick past Steve Mandanda to hand Daniel Sanchez's side the initiative. Danic turned provider for the second goal soon after, dispossessing Rod Fanni and squaring for Anthony le Tallec who tapped into an empty net. It got far worse for Marseille and Mandanda in particular, when the goalkeeper's limp throw straight to Foued Kadir gave the Algerian the easiest finish in his career and handed Valenciennes a shock 3-0 half-time lead. Le Tallec made it four in the second period with a header, which meant Jordan Ayew's brilliant volley inside the penalty area was nothing more than a consolation, late on. Marseille still top the Ligue 1 standings, but face Paris Saint-Germain in a fiery Classique match next Sunday, with top spot possibly up for grabs. |

| OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS |
0 | 2 | BORDEAUX |
![]() Olympique Lyonnais suffered their first league defeat of the season, going down 2-0 to Bordeaux at the Stade Gerland. The hosts were by far the more dominant outfit in a match which left supporters rueing their wastefulness in front of goal. Bordeaux were content to sit back in a competitive and cagey first-half encounter, though it was Lyon who wasted the better chances with Clement Grenier orchestrating proceedings in midfield. Les Girondins took the lead after a counterattack, as Benoit Tremoulinas latched onto a ball on the left wing and slotted past Remy Vercoutre. The visitors then doubled their unlikely advantage as Cheick Diabate struck late on to cap off what was an undeserved, but morale-boosting win for Francis Gillot's men. |
