Marseille striker Loic Remy has revealed he is prepared to battle for his spot in the side, following their perfect start to the season.

Les Phoceens have won their six opening Ligue 1 fixtures, and comfortably top the league table as a result.

France international Loic Remy is yet to feature for the side this season however, but insists despite rumours in the Summer linking him with a move away, he is determined to stay and fight for his place in the first team.

"I've worked hard, I had a lot of problems in recent months," the injury susceptible forward told L'Equipe.

"I really have to get into the heart of this succesful team. I'm not weak, it'll do me well to pay attention to my lifestyle."

The 25-year-old was not included in France's Euro 2012 squad, which saw Les Bleus exit the tournament at the quarter-final stage.

The Lyon native is confident however of sealing a return to the international fold, claiming that no one's place in the team is guaranteed.

He added: "It was hard to miss the Euros.

"In the France team, there are no players [guaranteed a call-up]. It's true that I was often called up under Laurent Blanc, but I was never a certainty. I know the new coach, but I'll still have to earn my place in the group."

Remy will hope to be involved when Marseille look for their seventh consecutive win away to Valenciennes on Sunday.
