The teenager has already established himself in manager Carlo Ancelotti's starting eleven and has become a key component in a team packed with world stars.
The Italy international, who will not be 20 until November, made his debut in Les Parisiens' 4-1 win over Dinamo Kiev on Tuesday, and he told Il Centro that he was anxious heading into the match.
"I had goosebumps. Ancelotti calmed me down and said 'go out there and do what you do'," he explained.
"The coach is giving me so much confidence and I'm delighted."
Unlike a number of young players who have struggled when moving abroad early in their career, Verratti has thrived, and he has been helped by a number of fellow Italian speakers at his new club.
"[Ezequiel] Lavezzi, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, [Javier] Pastore and Ancelotti all speak in Italian, and for me it's an advantage."
Ibrahimovic was the biggest name to join Ancelotti's side over the summer, and Verratti has moved to quell rumours that the Sweden striker can be a bad influence in the dressing room.
"He really is a great guy. From the outside he looks like a grumpy guy, but he is not.
"He's helping me a lot in the field and during workouts."
Despite seemingly being at home in his new surroundings, the midfielder has admitted that he has tried to keep up to date with his former side Pescara, only to be prevented by the French authorities.
He added: "I wanted to see all the matches of Pescara on Sky, so I installed a satellite dish on the roof.
"A few days later they made me take it off because I can not put it on the terrace."
