PSG can win the Champions League this season, claims Aragones

The former Spain coach has given his opinion on the capital club's current project, saying that Carlo Ancelotti's men can, in theory, triumph in Europe but it will be hard

Luis Aragones has warned Paris Saint-Germain that winning the Champions League will not be an easy task, but believes the French outfit are more than capable of triumphing on the Continental stage this season.

The capital club have pursued an ambitious project over the last year, bringing in stellar names such as Thiago Silva, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Pastore.

And the former Spain coach feels that having so many established stars with European experience in the squad could help them reach their potential more quickly than most teams.

"I look at Paris Saint-Germain's project with curiosity," he told Colonens du Parisien.

"Now PSG are a real team with major players. There is the unavoidable presence of Ibrahimovic, but each in its style, will bring something.

"Winning the Champions League this season will be difficult, but not impossible because they have sufficient technical quality.

"Normally, it takes two or three years to a new group to give their maximum. PSG are lucky to have top players in all positions, they may take less time."
