The 23-year-old featured in La Paillade's Ligue 1 opening game against Toulouse on Friday evening, an encounter which saw three red cards brandished at Stade de la Mosson.
Yanga-Mbiwa has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Thiago Silva, who quit San Siro for Paris Saint-Germain last month. However, the Bangui-born defender maintains that currently, he will remain with the Ligue 1 champions.
"I am looking for perfection [in my playing style]. I'm here, with the club that bred me, Montpellier," the captain told beIN Sport.
"I don't know what my future holds, but I'm doing as well as I can."
Montpellier travel to face Lorient in the second round of matches next week.
