Ancelotti: Paris Saint-Germain are ready for Ligue 1

The former Chelsea boss was positive after his side's penalty shoot-out defeat at the hands of Barcelona, and thinks his troops are fully prepared for the coming season
Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti was satisfied with his team's performance in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Barcelona, which was ultimately decided in favor of the Catalans by a penalty shoot-out.

The capital club have added stellar names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi to their roster this summer as they look to challenge for the Ligue 1 title.

And although they ultimately lost to Tito Vilanova's men, the Italian is certain that his troops are ready for the rigours of the coming season.

"Our back line controlled their forward line nicely. Naturally I'd have liked to see us combining better up front and having more confidence with the ball, but that's normal," he told reporters.

"We need to keep working hard, but tonight was an important chance to gauge our own quality against a very strong side.

"I think the team is ready for Ligue 1. We've done some excellent hard work and physically we're in good condition."

Ibrahimovic, who used to play for Barcelona, scored a penalty as PSG recovered a two-goal deficit, and Ancelotti was said that he was pleased with the Swede's contribution.

"Ibrahimovic played well, just like the others. He did a good job, which is tough against Barcelona."

PSG will start their title challenge against Lorient on August 10.
