Ancelotti: It is up to Nene to make a decision on his Paris Saint-Germain future

The winger's prospects at the Ligue 1 giants look bleak following the arrival of several high-profile players, but the PSG coach wants the attacker to remain with the club

Carlo Ancelotti hopes that Nene will remain at Paris Saint-Germain, but admitted that it is up to the Brazilian to make a decision on his future.

The winger's place at PSG is in doubt following the arrival of Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli, and Nene is currently considering his options, with Corinthians closely monitoring his situation at Parc des Princes.

"It's up to him to decide whether he wants to stay or to move on," Ancelotti was quoted as saying by Eurosport. "Once he's made up his mind, we can make a decision if we want to keep him here.

"I have talked to him, and the club's position is very clear. We are taking our time before we start talking about a contract extension.

"We'll be very happy if he opts to stay, because he's a fantastic player and can be important for us in the upcoming season."

Nene, meanwhile, has remained coy over his future, telling Le Parisien: "This is Paris-Saint Germain. Sometimes these things happen in football. We will see what happens."

The 31-year-old Brazilian finished as Ligue 1's joint top scorer last season with 21 goals. His contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2013.
