The outspoken owner of the 2011-12 Ligue 1 champions has insisted that the French club will try to hold on to the 22-year-old midfielder, despite interest from abroadMontpellier president Louis Nicollin has revealed his intention to keep Younes Belhanda next season, despite heavy interest in the Morocco international.
The 22-year-old played an integral role in helping la Paillade secure their first-ever Ligue 1 title last season, and has now been linked to Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, Nicollin insisted that the club will try to persuade the midfielder to stay at Stade de la Mosson.
"He [Belhanda] is right to say that PSG is a dream. We will make an effort to extend [his contract] and we will see from there," the club president told RMC Sport.
"We will not put both feet in the same shoe. He still has three years on his contract. So we will see."
Montpellier ended the Ligue 1 season in first place, three points ahead of PSG.
