Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has revealed that Thiago Motta wants to join the club but Inter are reluctant to let him go.

Motta's agent claimed during the week that Wednesday's Coppa Italia clash with Napoli could be his client's last game for the Nerazzurri.

However, the midfielder is still an Inter player and Leonardo has admitted that while PSG remain hopeful of signing the Italy international, they are reluctant to force the issue.

"The situation is very clear," the former Nerazzurri coach explained during a press conference in Paris, which had been called to announce the signing of defender Alex from Chelsea.

"We have very good relations both with Inter and the player himself.

"You should know that Inter want to keep him but that Motta wants to come. And that's really something very important to us.

"So we will try to reach an agreement with his club that would suit everyone. It would be a real plus for the club but for now, we respect his contract [with Inter]."

While Leonardo is not giving up on Motta, he reiterated that PSG have ended their pursuit of Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

"The negotiations were halted five days ago," he declared. "Yes, we spoke, we made offers, even if written offers in newspapers have been exaggerated. But, in the end, nothing has been concluded.

"Anyway, let's be clear, there is no possibility that it will happen this winter because there is now no space with the arrival of Alex."

PSG currently sit three points clear of Montpellier at the top of Ligue 1 ahead of Saturday's trip to Brest.
