Olympique de Marseille defender Rod Fanni will miss four weeks after breaking his toe during Tuesday's clash with Arsenal, the club's official website has confirmed.

The 29-year-old completed the full 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium, but complained of having a sore toe after the match.

It has now been confirmed that the injury is worse than it was initially feared, and Fanni has suffered a fracture.

The injury could leave Didier Deschamps without the defender for several critical clashes, including his side's key Champions League games against Olympiakos and Borussia Dortmund, and Ligue 1 matches against Montpellier and Paris Saint-Germain.
